
In 1791 to 1804 the Haitian revolution took place, it was a slave revolt on a french colony, Saint Dominic. this revolution led to the founding of the state, the revolution was the of two successful that is why it is considered the most successful slavery rebellion. even though independents was earned, it was affected by the ways of the french. the french had a system, that was overpowering the poor with violence and because of mixed race children, who were referred to as mulatto, they were provided with training and education making them the elite in the times after the revolution.

A large amount of french laws were changed after the revolution because of the publishing of the declaration of the rights of man, making all men free and equal.
the french revolution lead to the conflict at saint Dominic which was welcomed at first. wealthy white men sawt out to gain independence from the french this would allow them to create trade with the plantation owners who would rule after independence was earned.
